Mark your calendars Florida State Seminoles fans. ‘The Bandit’ is back. Actor and Florida State alum Burt Reynolds is going to plant the spear at midfield at Doak Campbell Stadium prior to the game against the Boston College Golden Eagles on November 22nd.
In one of the more popular NCAA football traditions, Reynolds will get the Seminole fans all riled up prior to their ABC/ESPN game on with the spear of fire. Game time has not been announced yet. Also no word on weather he enters the stadium in a Trans Am or not.
Burt Reynolds, the famed actor who played football at Florida State before making his way to Hollywood, will plant the spear at midfield prior to kickoff.
Reynolds was elected to the FSU Hall of Fame in 1977 and earned an Academy Awards nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 1997.
“We are excited to have a packed stadium for BC to not only honor Seminole legend Burt Reynolds, but also to officially recognize an outstanding senior class that helped bring FSU its third national championship,” FSU Director of Athletics Stan Wilcox said.
